Blogging In The Education Wonderland

To be a Teacher most people think we are Crazy or Mad. The truth of the matter is in fact we have a different mindset or reality. Blogs can help express a Teachers ideas to students that are glued at the hips to the internet. Instead of viewing this topic as a handicapped I view it as an tool(Crazy Right?). Through blogging I would want a the student or any one to to learn that First You can feel comfortable expressing your opinions. Second It is okay to be open (Being PG rated of course) about anything in relation to the topic. This results in the Final and Third goal of learning through a blog is seeing the subject through other peoples eyes and minds. Blogging truly give meaning to the quote "walk a mile in my shoes" because you can with seeing others opinions and responses. To evaluate if you have learned anything I would choose a host site such as you tube and create a private channel where you would have to upload a video of your reposes to the subject within discussion answering certain questions given to you, the student by me, the teacher.

  1. Online tools can do so much to help students who are "different" somehow, whether it is being in a wheelchair or having a disfigurement from an accident, or just being painfully shy. Bloggers can just be themselves and not feel different. Digital text looks the same for all of us.

  2. I like your idea of uploading a video! Very helpful for visual learners! Also, creating a youtube channel is so cool! What if you uploaded a video of yourself going deeper in the lesson? That way students who don't understand it the first time can press play again and again?

    1. That is a really good idea to get the extra help out that there some students may feel they need but are too embarrassed to ask for.

    2. I really like that idea too! You both bring up good points that sometimes kids don't completely understand a subject but they often are too embarrassed to ask in front of the whole class and sometimes the teacher just doesn't have enough class time to go over it in more depth.

  4. I agree that many people think it is crazy to become a teacher, and it is not for everyone. But there are many of us out there who may have resisted but got sucked in anyways and love it. Successful teaching requires many tools, and like you pointed out, blogging is a good one.

  5. It is a great idea to have your students post using a video. This can be another way for students to express how they feel about a certain topic. I never thought about that. Good idea!

  6. I think it's so funny that you said people think that those of us who want to teach are "crazy." But it takes someone who thinks a little differently to be able to touch so many people's lives in so many ways. You have to be able to think outside of the box and not be afraid to try something different. I think students posting videos of their responses is a really neat and original idea and could make blogging a little easier for younger kids who can't write or type well.

  12. I like your ideas for your students, specifically viewing the subject material at all different angles. I think to properly cover a topic, all sides should be at least breached, and blogging would be a good way to express that.

  13. It is good to have kids (and adults) to look at things in other peoples' perspectives. This helps develop empathy and understanding towards other people and their ideas.
